Garage Floor Tile

garage floor tiles

Garage floor tiles should be considered as an option for anyone looking for a new garage floor. Usable in not only garages, but also any other shop, as well as pretty much any place you can find to stick them. Peel and stick tiles can beautify an otherwise boring area.
Custom fit is simple, and their extremely easy to install, though somewhat time consuming. Unless you have a large gouge or hole in your concrete, they'll also hide stains and cracks as well as anything else. Better still would be using them to keep the floor from becoming stained or cracked in the first place. Though the condition of the floor will be the least of your worries should you drop a car or something, you'll eventually get back in there and wish you would've had that floor covered by something.
Much like, garage floor tiles often have a patterned design that will trap dirt and debris, keeping it from being tracked into the home. The biggest difference here would be that the tiles are on a much larger scale, and also immobile. Like pads, they provide some cushioning and are quite durable. Similar to the cut and lay garage floor mats, the tiles will give you a virtually sealed, non-porous surface to work upon at what is generally a smaller price tag than many other options. Simply give the concrete a good sweeping, peel, and stick.
Another advantage tiles have on mats is that they will not bunch up when a wheel is turned from side to side upon them. Although mats do not always do this, they're much more likely than tiles that are stuck to the ground. Of course, you'll probably be better off with an epoxy kit if you're planning on doing a lot of driving in, out, or within your garage. If you're really set on tiles, though, you always have the option of professional installation. A professional installer can generally be scheduled any place garage floor solutions can be found.
Garage floor tiles are probably the most aesthetically pleasing type of flooring as, except for epoxy, they tend to look the most complete. Epoxy is also a lot more expensive, unless you plan to do it yourself. Replacing tiles one by one is also an option, should they become damaged or stained, although this would not be nearly as easy as replacing a containment mat. The tiles have the advantage of being more cost effective, though.

Garage Floor Covering Options - The Hottest Trends

garage floor tiles
There is one area of every house that is constantly exposed to elements - dirt, snow, oil, mud etc. and that is garage floor. If you are a professional in that area you will not need to read this, but if you are thinking about renovating or updating the look of your garage it would be wise to update your knowledge and find out about the latest new technologies available to any home owner and do it yourself amateur. The most popular way of changing the look of any garage floor is the use of either epoxy or rustoleum paints, which are available as kits in all home improvement stores. Both options are great for covering the concrete and you will find that keeping your floor clean becomes a breeze. However you will need to prepare the floor before you start painting and we have provided a simple step by step how to guide for you on our website. The key point is to paint your floor at optimal temperature so make sure you check that first.
Epoxy garage floor coverings come in many colors and they are suitable not only for garage floors but also patios, driveways, pool areas and they help repel staining and damage to the floor itself. Behr offers a drylok that, when applied properly creates a water resistant surface. Also if you would like a shiny surface you can look into polishing options to add an even more decorative and luxurious look to your floors.
If you would like a concrete paint that can imitate marble, stone, tile or even leather you should look into stained concrete method. Using colored concrete for decorative effects has become quite a popular solution and there are many different kinds of stains available on the market today, including resurfacing agents, concrete acid stain and even dye that is added to the concrete itself. Concrete acid stain method is probably the easiest out of all options and can be quite easily managed even by not very experienced renovator. This option is used inside as well as outside of the house.
If you are after more permanent solution garage floor tiles should be your choice. Gone are the days where ceramic tiles were the only option available. New flexi PVC tiles are the latest trend, they bend but at the same time can withstand enormous pressure without breaking. They come in a variety of designs - wood, bold colors or patterns. Floor Junkies specialize in making those. Another trend that gained in popularity in the last few years is the use of adhesive interlocking vinyl flooring. Those tiles are incredibly easy to install and you could have a brand new floor in a matter of a day or two. Cork is also quite popular due to its rubber like properties.
One thing to remember is that whichever option you choose, whether you prefer epoxy paint, floor tiles or stained cement the old concrete will need to be patched up first. Repairing concrete is not that difficult if you follow few simple rules and it does not matter if it is just a crack repair or more complicated job, the same rules apply. But if you really do not want to go through a major renovation there is always another option that does not require any effort on your part - garage floor mats. They certainly protect your floor. Garage Floor Tiles - Cheap and Long Lasting Flooring Solution

Garage Floor Tiles
Garage floors get exposed to a variety of corrosive substances every day. Chemicals like grease, battery acids, antifreeze solutions, salt and motor oil can corrode garage floors made of concrete on prolonged exposure. The sad thing is that in spite of these risks, garage floor is often the most neglected portion of any house. People may put up granite or marble tiles in their kitchen and bathroom floors, but few ever pay much attention to the cold, damp garage floor. Putting up dry walls in a garage is a good choice to opt for but that still won't protect the floor. Some form of protection for the garage floor is necessary, if it is to be expected to last long.
Garage floors can be protected from everyday corrosion by a variety of protective measures. Vinyl or lacquer paints can be applied to the floors. But the process is both time consuming and laborious. Not exactly the thing a busy professional can do in a short time period. For the people with little time in hand, garage floor tiles are the best options.
Garage floor tiles come in disposable packages and already have adhesives applied to the downside. These can be peeled off and pasted on the garage floor after it has been cleaned to make it free of grease and oil, just the way one would apply stickers. Minimal amount of equipments are required for the task. Just a pair of kneepads, a sharp utility knife (to cut the overlapping tiles to shape), and a measuring tape are needed to carry out the process. The time required is not too great either. One or two days of effort are usually enough. This makes it the ideal weekend project.
Garage floor tiles come in various colors, patterns, and shapes. The most popular patterns are ribbed, coin shaped, or diamond shaped. The tiles completely resist any sort of corrosive substance and can be washed, swept, or hosed to clean them. These are highly resistant to chipping and peeling, and can withstand the weight of even the heaviest vehicles. The tiles are also heat resistant and thus can be applied in any season.
The garage floor tiles can increase the market value of a house to some extent. If a house owner chooses to sell his/her house in future, the tiled garage floor will raise the price of the house to quite an extent and will also entice prospective buyers at the same time. Application of tiles on the garage floor is thus a good combination of protection and value addition for any house.

Garage Floor Covering - Give Your Old Garage Floor a Face Lift

While working in the garage, a person can come to appreciate the beauty and benefits of covering the surface of the garage floor. Whether a person uses simple floor mats to renovate the entire floor, installing some form of covering for the garage flooring is important. Not only does it provide a nicer surface to look at, the garage floor covering can also help protect the floor. Having a healthier floor in your garage will provide many benefits, ranging from less money being spent to repair it to being used as a selling point. There are multiple types of garage floor coverings available and they all provide their own advantages and disadvantages.
One of the easiest ways to cover the garage surface is to put down carpeting or floor mats. Generally, a person does not want to cover the entire floor with carpeting if he or she uses it for parking a car often, as the car can tear up the carpet. However, putting down carpeting is enough to cover up any nasty-looking spots. One type of matting is rubber matting, which is easy to clean (just use a hose) as well as looking colorful and attractive. Carpeting or mats are easy to install, but generally they do not provide enough protection if a person uses the garage often as a work area.
If a person uses his or her garage as a workshop often, then he or she may want to install industrial-grade material as the garage floor covering. For example, there are some types of interlocking garage floor tiles that are able to withstand quite a bit of punishment. A benefit to these tiles is that they can be installed in patterns, which can help spruce up the garage and make it more attractive. Even the concrete can be improved upon with epoxy concrete paint, which will be able to fill in any holes and provide a waterproof and shiny surface.
Because there are so many types of coverings for the floor a person can spend quite a while trying to decide on one. Ranging from PVC tiles to classic floor mats, there are many options. Generally a person should look at what he or she uses the garage for before choosing a garage floor covering type. Heavy-duty material like epoxy concrete paint or industrial tiles are better when the garage is used often as a workshop-type area whereas simple floor matting and covering paint will suffice if the garage is used only for parking cars. On the other hand concrete acid stain will provide more decorative effect for someone looking for extra esthetically pleasing result.

Garage Floor Tiles - An Easy Fix For a Dirty Garage Floor

Garage Floor Tiles

I have the perfect life. I am happily married, I run my own business, and I own my own home. And what a great home it is. Four bedrooms, two and a half baths, about 2000 square feet give or take. It gives us enough room for our bedroom, two spares, and an office. And then we also have a two car garage big enough to comfortably fit both of our vehicles without any trouble. What a great life.
Recently, however, I began to nit pick at the little things that I didn't like with my life. One of my primary frustrations was my garage. I spend a lot of time out there, working on projects, fixing the lawnmower, and generally do guy stuff. I also have a bi-weekly poker game that includes a lot of cigar smoking, beer drinking, and general debauchery. The garage also serves as my automotive center, as I do most of the general maintenance on the cars (can you believe how many people don't know how to change their oil these days!!). With all the time I spend in the garage, I could not believe how dirty the floor was. Not only does it accumulate dust and dirt generally, but there are oil stains, grease stains, and many other kinds of stains that are unidentifiable. Also, there are some minor cracks, chips, and things of that nature in the garage floor. It just doesn't look that good.
Probably just to give myself something to do, I looked into some options for resolving my garage floor problem. I looked at plain old garage floor paint, I looked at epoxy garage floor installation, and I stumbled upon garage floor tiles. Once I found out about garage floor tiles, there was no going back. First, they look great. You can arrange them in a checkered pattern, by a single color, or implement any kind of pattern you want. And when finished they look amazing. Second, they are very reasonably priced. I think something like one to two dollars per square yard, depending on the exact style and model you get. For under one hundred fifty dollars I outfitted my whole garage. And finally, the installation is a snap. The tiles go in very similarly to linoleum tiles. You simply put a little adhesive on, place them down, and move on to the next. I did the whole garage in under 5 hours, most of which was spent cutting the tiles that go next to the wall.
Once installed I was blown away with the transformation my garage experienced. It brightened up. It cleaned up. And it just looked more inviting. Not that I needed an excuse to spend more time in the garage, but these garage floor tiles really made a huge difference and pull me into the garage even more than they originally did. And the poker buddies love it.
If you are tired of the way your garage looks, and a lot of that can be attributed to the dirty, grimy condition of the floor, then consider garage floor tiles. You will not be disappointed, and neither will your buddies!
